  Eating WELL

Like I said, I think there’s more to being healthy than exercising all the time.  Plus, who really wants to do that? (who really has the time for that?!)

Eating WELL is just as important (if not more important) than exercising – in my humble opinion!  Note the emphasis on WELL.  Don’t waste your time counting calories or reading millions of health guru books.  Eating well is simple, and the average educated person should be able to figure this out!!!!!!!  Here are my rules for eating well:

1. The MAJORITY of your diet should consist of fresh produce.  Sprinkle in a few proteins and carbs and you’re good to go.

2. Don’t buy anything with high fructose corn syrup in it (yes, it’s possible to find a white bread that does not have this!!!)

3. The shorter the ingredient list, the better.

4. SIMPLIFY.  Cook using simple ingredients. (Food will taste better, fresher, and be quicker to prepare)

5. Don’t eat your biggest meal at night. 

6. Eat HAPPY. Dont force yourself to eat raw celery because its supposed to be good for you.  Make healthy foods happy foods.

7. Break the rules. YES!  Eat the tube of girl scout cookies or the blizzard from DQ or the cheese curds wrapped in bacon and fully ENJOY it!  BUT don’t let yourself think that because you’ve had something unhealthy that the rest of the day or week is down the hole. Get right back on that horse and get back to eating well.
